Too busy and service not what it used to be

We went as a family of 4 for a lovely half term dinner. On ordering we were told the mains would be about 30 minutes. 40 minutes passed, 50 minutes passed, 60 minutes passed and finally after 70 minutes the mains arrived. They did discount the bill to recognise the long wait but the moment and mood was gone. Shame really always had good food and service at Hawksmoor in the past.

This branch is located by Borough market so very busy. We booked for Sunday roast but ended up ordering steak from the feasting menu with roast trimmings. It’s a great place for quality steaks. The Chateaubriand and Porterhouse steaks were absolutely lovely and cooked to perfection. Desserts were just as delicious, l think more custard should be served with the apple pie.
Staff were very accommodating and made sure we had space for the baby pram. Nice to know staff knew something about wine. It was a lovely meal and my group thoroughly enjoyed it.

My boyfriend surprised me with a private dinner here on Valentine’s Day, the food was delicious ( we had the mixed grill and beef dripping chips ) and our waiter Gabs was attentive and kind, he also gave us some lovely drink recommendations including the tropicano, the double melon daiquiri and the lychee martini. I would definitely recommend & will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and attentive, food was generous portions and the steak was incredible. Beef dripping chips were a plus. We were accommodated despite not having a reservation on a busy Saturday early evening along with children welcomed.

Udsøgt mad - nemt system, hvor man bestiller alle delene af måltidet for sig, så man kan tilpasse med præcis det, man ønsker. Dog løber prisen hurtigt op, og stedet her er bestemt ikke for en tynd pung. Det eneste negative at notere var, at der var flere af tingene på menuen, som restauranten var løbet tør for. Både vores første- og andetvalg var ikke tilgængeligt. Dog var tredjevalget stadig fantastisk! Selvom Steak er i centrum, fik min partner kyllingen, som også var fuldstændig fantastisk!
Fed service - især hvis man har fødselsdag (surprise cake!)

Went for lunch and was all amazing. My first time going to Hawksmoor, been wanting to go for a very long time. Service was great. Food was delicious. Best steak I’ve ever had!

Me and my partner came here this evening for our anniversary! We were greeted by lovely staff who took our coats and was then seated straight away, Sylvester was amazing! Very informative and helpful and pleasant overall. Very quick service in general, food was incredible and worth it for the price! Would definite recommend!!!

I have visited over 20 times, and the service is always amazing, with food that matches its quality.
However, today is Valentine's Day, a day that is fully booked and bustling with activity, which often leads to mistakes. Despite the chaos, Piotr (Peter in English) provided us with exceptional service and attention, making it feel as relaxed as a slow Sunday. It wasn't until later that I realized how hectic things were.
I would rate this experience a perfect 10/10—one of the best visits I've had to date!

Steak was pretty good, not a fan of the desserts at all, service was a tad slow but considering how busy the restaurant was they did okay.
I wouldn’t return but I would say try the steaks I wouldn’t recommend desserts at all !

We ordered the waiters recommendation, a shared 1kg steak for 3. The taste was good and cooked as requested but only just enough to share and at £160 it wasn't good value!

I had the Château Briand, and it was absolutely outstanding! This is the perfect spot for anyone craving flavourful, perfectly grilled steaks and meats. It truly delivers on its promise—hands down the best steaks in town! The service was impeccable, and the thoughtfully curated wine selection made for the perfect pairing. A must-visit for steak lovers# Scallops and Prawn cocktail make for great classic starters.

Only heard good things in advance, but made the mistake of having the lunch deal. Steaks were really tough, and we thought maybe they saved their least appealing ones for people ordering the cheap two//three course lunch. Our cocktails were both excellent and the staff were chatty and attentive.

Sunday roast was mainly fat! Asked for it well done (or just not pink due to being pregnant) came out pink and hardly any meat. Basically all I could eat was the 'trimmings' very disappointed with this experience.
